ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My roots as a
classically trained painter has had a profound influence on my
photographic style. When light and shadow are captured on paper it becomes
a form of communication and the goal of communication is understanding. To
me, a successful image is measured in it's ability to communicate it's
makers message, if understood, than the image succeeds. The images I
create represent how I see the world, create being the definitive word. My
style of photography is not about just capturing what is in front of the
lens but serves only as a starting point for the final image. Each one of
my images is a unique one-of-a-kind vision which represents not only my
artistic skill but my soul. I spend 11 months a year traveling in a self
contained mobile digital darkroom "Van-Go" seeking stimulating
subjects that will excite my creativity and also give workshops around the
country on digital photography and fine art technique.
